Scotland is a much larger country than you might imagine. Dumfries is situated roughly equal distance from the north and south coast of the UK. Save time and fuel by visiting Dumfries and Galloway; you will not be disappointed!

Another wonderful holiday – 4th. visit to Dumfries, 3rd. time here. So stress free. Well worth visiting – Wildlife Conservation Park, Caelaverock Castle, Threve Castle and gardens, Deer range, Balcary Bay – and the ferry trip to Belfast was awesome. Back soon.

Came here with twin boys at 20 months old. Had a lovely week, we will be back. Lots to see and do. A must see is the Red Kite feeding station.

Fab. accommodation, very comfortable with everything you need at hand. Tranquil setting, really enjoyed peace and quiet. Explored a lot of the Solway coast, nice beach at Sandyhills and good tea room. Enjoyed Castle Douglas and visited Threve Castle (by boat). Had a day in Kirkcudbright and visited MacLellan's Castle which was very impressive. All in all an excellent holiday and will return again soon.

This was our first visit to Nunland and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Very comfortable lodge, so peaceful and quiet. We enjoyed a visit to Mabie Park Farm and Kirkcudbright Wildlife Conservation Park, also Dalton Art Cafe was good fun and good value for money (compared to Edinburgh!). Hope to visit again soon.

Very impressive accommodation. The surroundings are beautifully tranquil –very relaxing. We've been impressed by how relaxed and at home we've all felt while here this week. Our mum's first visit to Scotland. She's enjoyed it all. Loved Sandyhills and Rockcliffe, the children love the beach. We've been blessed with some glorious weather.

From the South

Nunland is easy to find!. From the M6/A74 near Gretna, turn left onto the A75, signed Dumfries and Stranraer, (the road bypasses Dumfries). Still on the A75, approx. 3miles beyond (west of) Dumfries the road becomes dual carriageway for just over 1mile. At the end of this dual carriageway there is a small roundabout signed Lochfoot to the left. There are also brown tourist signs for Nunland. Follow these, turning left and then immediately left again.

From the North

On approaching Dumfries from the north (people often turn off the M74 at Lockerbie) , turn right onto the A75, which bypasses Dumfries to the north, signed to Stranraer. Still on the A75, approx. 3miles beyond (west of) Dumfries the road becomes dual carriageway for just over 1mile.
