Nunland Country Holidays
Stay on a Farm
Tel - 01387 730214

We have had some excellent weather this year, and the summer was nowhere near as wet as in other parts of the UK. The night sky is a joy to behold just now, with very little light polution. We have hosted a number of mountain bike enthusiasts this year, including a couple of talented 'juniors' who placed highly in the national championships at Ae forest last year. We continually remind ourselves that we are very lucky to live and work in such a delightful part of the country; it certainly beats teaching maths! The weather we experience is usually much better than the national forcasts would suggest making Nunland an ideal place to have a relaxing holiday at any time of the year. |

2007 was a difficult year for us. The renovation of the lodges was due to be completed by Easter but work continued right through to November! Anyway that is all in the past. The lodges have been vastly improved and all the work and effort has been well worth it. Nunland has been been restored to its normal tranquil state and we can now look forward to welcoming you here without any workmen!. |

Livestock at Nunland. Our flock of 6 pregnant Shetland sheep gave birth during early April to 11 lambs. One of the lambs was very weak at birth but to our amazement has survived and is now doing well. The lambs are a joy to watch as they play in the early evening, incredibly nimble and fast of foot. |

The free range hens pecking round the garden have been joined by a flock of fluffy Silkies - 4 chicks from the last clutch of eggs. There are still two hens who are insisting on sitting on a few eggs |

Greyhound RescueThe Dumfriesshire Greyhound Rescue used Nunland as a location for a calendar shoot during the summer. Unfortunately I missed the lovely greyhound out of my photograph. The tractor has not quite been the same since! You can buy the 2006 calendar from www.longleggedbeauties.co.uk |

John GloverDuring the winter I have turned my hand to designing web sites for some friends and also in my roll as webmaster for the Association of Dumfries and Galloway Accommodation Providers. I have just completed a site for John Glover, an excellent portrait painter and landscape artist. You can see his work (and mine!) at www.johngloverportraits.co.uk |
