Solway Lodge sleeps up to 4 people
Solway Lodge
This award-winning lodge is designed to be accessible by all and is located in an elevated position with superb views. The lodge has been awarded 4 stars by the Scottish Tourist Board and is graded category 1 (M3) under the national Accessibility Scheme.
The lodge is well insulated and has double-glazing for year round use. Heating is by electric radiators (electricity is charged through meter reading). The accommodation comprises a double bedroom and a twin bedroom, both with fitted wardrobes and dressing tables. Bed linen and towels are included, and the beds are made up for your arrival. The spacious bathroom is accessed from the hall, but is also en-suite to the main bedroom and is fitted with a level entry shower with seat; the toilet and shower each have horizontal, vertical and drop down support rails.
The lounge, dining room and kitchen form a large airy room with lovely views on all sides and a double door opening on to the large verandah with outdoor seating. There is a colour TV and radio/CD/cassette player. The kitchen is very well equipped for your self-catering needs and includes an electric cooker and hob, fridge, microwave and washer/dryer. There is space under the sink (900mm) for wheelchair users; the hob and adjacent work surface are at 810mm.
There is parking for at least 2 vehicles next to the lodge with level access on to the verandah. A 'pay as you go' mobile 'phone is available for hire.
(Please note that Solway Lodge is accessed via a fairly steep, rough track which is easy for cars to negotiate, but is not suitable for wheelchairs. Whilst there are many accessible walks and attractions in the area, we regret that, at present, we are unable to offer accessible 'strolls' near to the lodge itself.)
