If you are looking for castles and other historic sites, Dumfries & Galloway offers some realy fantastic sites. Owned by Historic Scotland, Caerlaverock Castle near Glencaple is one such example and is only a short drive from Nunland. Built in the 13th century, Caerlaverock is an impressive and well preserved moated triangular castle. We've selected Caerlaverock and a few other sites that you may wish to visit during your stay.

Whilst all the lodges have fully equipped kitchens, if you dont feel like cooking, there's loads of great places to eat nearby. So whether you are looking for fine dining, a cosy pub serving bar meals or a takeaway we've compliled a list for your convenience.
