Things to Do

There's plenty of activities for everyone

Fun filled days with activities for young and old

Stretching from romantic Gretna Green in the east to Stranraer in the west, there's plenty to do in Dumfries & Galloway. We've selected a few activities that illustrate possibilities for young and old alike; the friendly and knowledgeable team at Nunland are also on hand to help provide inspiration & guidance on request.

Historic Sites

If you are looking for castles and other historic sites, Dumfries & Galloway offers some really fantastic sites. Owned by Historic Scotland, Caerlaverock Castle near Glencaple is one such example and is only a short drive from Nunland. Built in the 13th century, Caerlaverock is an impressive and well-preserved moated triangular castle. We've selected Caerlaverock and a few other sites that you may wish to visit during your stay.

Restaurants / Places to Eat

Whilst all the lodges have fully equipped kitchens, if you don't feel like cooking, there are loads of great places to eat nearby. So whether you are looking for fine dining, a cosy pub serving bar meals or a takeaway we've compiled a list for your convenience. It's not exhaustive and were sure you'll find plenty more without too much trouble.

Whether you are looking for quaint towns & villages with independent shops, large chains or discount stores, Dumfries & Galloway has it all. Nunland is situated at the heart of the region, so whether you are looking to travel east or west, were roughly equidistant from each border.
